Barnsley struggled to breakdown National League side Guiseley last night but at least maintained their unbeaten and 100% defensive record this summer.
A Reds side containing at least eight players highly likely to start the League One season opener at Chesterfield in just over three weeks time enjoyed most of the ball and territory but only created one clear cut chance when Alfie Mawson’s 22 yard drive was turned over the bar in the first half.
Rather worryingly for Reds supporters, no Barnsley player has scored yet this pre-season as their winner at Stalybridge Celtic last week came via an own goal.
