Danny's Boys Beat Barnsley
Last updated : 12 September 2007 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)
Danny Wilson's Hartlepool United saw off Barnsley in a Reserve team clash today.
Barnsley included Marciano Bruma in the side for his first Barnsley appearance. Or should I say Marciano Van Homoet as he will now be known after the FA refused to let him use Bruma as it does not appear on his birth certificate.
It was a very inexperienced Reds side after that with only 3 players, Rob Atkinson, Luke Potter and Jacob Butterfield having appeared for the first team. All 3 players have come through the Academy and boast a total of 9 starts and 1 sub appearance for the first team between them with Atkinson holding 8 of those starts.
Michael Rae put Pools ahead just after the half hour mark with Ben Clark making the game safe after the break.
HARTLEPOOL UNITED: Allison, Gott, Robson, Barron, Clark, Turnbull, Maidens, Young, Rae, Mackay, Foley.
