As revealed on TykesMad on 13th June, speculation is hotting that Barnsley are after Austrian international midfielder Jurgen Samuel. The 23 year old Sturm Graz captain made 1 start and two substitute appearances for the co-hosts at Euro 2008 as they crashed out in the group stages.
And today's Daily Mirror believes a £500,000 deal could be in the pipeline. They report:
BARNSLEY want to sign Austrian international Jurgen Samuel from Sturm Graz in a £500,000 deal.
Reds boss Simon Davey though has this week dismissed these rumours. Whilst admitting the club's scouts are scouring Euro 2008, Davey claims Samuel is not on his wishlist.
