Barnsley could be set to make a move down the A61 to capture Sheffield Wednesday striker Chris O’Grady before the loan deadline on Thursday.
26-year-old O’Grady was a key feature for the Owls under former boss Gary Megson and scored the winner in the Steel City Derby in Megson’s final game in charge. He has fallen down the pecking order since Dave Jones arrived however, starting just one match.
This has alerted several clubs in the Championship and League One with Barnsley believed to be keen as manager Keith Hill got the best out of O’Grady at Rochdale where the striker scored 34 times in 99 games for him before departing for Hillsborough two months after Hill left for Oakwell.
