Can only be described as a disastrous signing! After bagging the Golden Boot at the 2007 European Under 21 Championships and scoring an overhead kick against England, a lot was expected of Rigters. But terrible finishing and a recurring hamstring injury meant he failed to notch a single goal. He will most probably be remembered by Reds fans as looking overweight and missing an absolute sitter against Southampton at Oakwell- a miss so bad even now many people cannot believe how he didn't score.
