Seven days later came the game which had changed the season probably for a good few years. Sheffield United arrived at Oakwell, Iain Hume left the pitch with a fractured skull courtesy of Chris Morgan's elbow, whilst a linesman 60 yards away gave United a penalty when the referee three yards away didn't. On a plus note, Kayode Odejayi got on the score sheet!
The next game with Watford was charged with emotion but despite falling behind The Reds surged back thanks to Miguel Mostto and Stephen Foster. Next up was an unlucky 2-1 defeat at Preston with the first goal a foul and the winner taking a massive deflection. Burnley and the SKY cameras arrived at Oakwell and Barnsley stormed into a 3-0 lead through Macken, Simon Whaley(from an offside position) and Leon before Martin Paterson hit a double to ensure a nervy finish.
November ended however with a massively disappointment as The Reds lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest. It was Forest's first victory in five.
