After a summer of protracted negotiations, Barnsley have finally secured the signature of striker Conor Wilkinson…. But only on loan.
Back in June The Reds had a £75,000 bid accepted by Bolton for the 20 year old Republic of Ireland Under 21 international but the move fell through when the two parties could not agree personal terms.
But today Barnsley announced they have signed Wilkinson on loan until January 2016 to allow him to link up once again with Reds head coach Lee Johnson, who played under for two spells whilst in charge of Oldham.
