Young Reds midfielder Tom Baker is out for the rest of the season with a fractured foot.
Tom was just getting a deserved shot in the first team so its even more disappointing.
Andy Ritchie told the official Barnsley FC website: "We had a blow yesterday with Tom because he has a stress fracture of his metatarsal. He picked it up when he came on from the bench at Hull last weekend and we were not aware of that until late on Monday.
"We sent him for a check up but there was not that much swelling and we thought it was just a bad whack on his foot. It was a surprise when the x-ray showed a fractured metatarsal so it is a big blow for him because if we had a few more points under our belt then I was going to throw him in.
"Tom has come on a lot in the last six months and he has been starring in the reserves. We have been pushing him hard and he would have had some games this season".
