Reds midfielder Colin Healy is set to sign a month's loan with League One side and Yorkshire rivals Bradford City this week.
Colin Todd's Bantams, who currently lie 15th in League One need midfield cover after injuries to Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, Ben Muirhead, Lee Holmes, Richard Edghill and Ben Parker
Reds boss Andy Ritchie told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"Hopefully we can sort things out with Bradford this week and Colin will go there for a month. He needs a run of four or five games on the spin to get his sharpness and match fitness back and hopefully he will get that out on loan.
"There are still a few things to sort out but hopefully that will not take too long".
Healy has made 10 appearances for The Reds since arriving on a free transfer in the summer, 2 starts in the Carling Cup and 8 sub appearances in the Championship
