Peter Ridsdale has confirmed that terms have been agreed with Leeds for midfielder Stephen McPhail.

He told the official Barnsley FC website: “We have agreed a deal with Leeds United that will see Stephen come to Oakwell. However, he is away on honeymoon and we will have to wait until the weekend before discussing terms with the player.

“We have permission to talk to him now but there are other clubs watching developments with interest”.

It seems strange that the club is raising the fans hopes when other clubs including First Division Coventry are likely to offer the player better terms and a higher level of football.
