Barnsley go into today's must win game without Tommy Wright and possibly Daniel Nardiello.
Wright starts a two game ban for collecting 10 cautions (most of which he collected at Blackpool) and Nardiello is struggling with a groin problem. Paul Hayes is set to partner Marc Richards up front.
Martin Devaney returns to the side after recovering from a dead leg but Bobby Hassell is still a week away from a return.
Probable line-up:
Nick Colgan
Neil Austin
Matt Carbon
Paul Reid
Martin Devaney
Stephen McPhail
Antony Kay
Chris Shuker
Paul Hayes
Marc Richards
Barnsley have a fairly excellent record against Bournemouth at Oakwell having won 12 of the 20 encounters although they did lose the last one. Last seasons 1-0 reverse was Barnsley's first home defeat against the Cherries since 1990 (a total though of only 3 meetings) They have only suffered home defeat against the Cherries though twice in 46 years and only 3 times overall.
Coming back to the present day and Barnsley's home form contrasts very differently with Bournemouth's away form.
The Reds of course boast the best home record in League One with just the solitary defeat against Doncaster Rovers back in September, meaning they haven't tasted defeat at Oakwell now for 14 games.
Bournemouth meanwhile have lost their last 4 games on the road and haven't tasted success on their travels since victory at Blackpool back in December (A total of 8 games)
Compare this with the Cherries overall record at Oakwell and there should only be one result, but football and particularly Barnsley FC are never that simple.
The previous meeting this season came at Dean Court just under a month ago on 28th February when Stephen McPhail put the Reds ahead in the first half, only to be pegged back second half and draw 1-1.
Last season's meeting at Oakwell came on 19th February 2005 when the Cherries were pushing for a play-off place, something they would agonisingly miss out on at the very last game.
A very poor performance from Barnsley saw Bournemouth take the spoils courtesy of a James O'Connor after 77 minutes in front of 8,153. Barnsley were 15th after that game, Bournemouth 6th (Ironically Barnsley now occupy 6th and Bournemouth 16th)
