Burton manager Nigel Clough said:
"I thought the conditions dictated what kind of game it was which was scrappy and I lost count of how many times people miscontrolled the ball as it was a very difficult surface to play on and breezy as well.
"We tried to play but in the final third, when you need that bit of quality, it was difficult when the ball was bobbling around. We got in some good positions but couldn't produce that final ball often enough.
"Teams like Shrewsbury are fighting for their lives and these are hard games.
"It was very important to get straight back in the game after going behind. And it was a good goal - one of the few bits of quality in the game - the cross from Stephen Quinn and the finish from David Templeton.
"We tried to be positive after that and tried to win the game right to the end. But couldn't quite manage it so we will take the point.
"We have lost one game in ten now and since losing to Luton in December it has been two months nearly without losing on the road.
"We have got four points now from two away games and we go to Barnsley on Tuesday where it will be a totally different prospect. They are going for automatic promotion so it will be a totally different challenge for us but one we are looking forward to."
