Reds goalkeeper Marlon Beresford is a major doubt for the Brentford match at Oakwell.
Beresford doubtful for Saturday
The back injury which led to his substitution against QPR is lingering and Beresford said: "My back is not too good at the moment.
"It was a simple thing really. I just came to the edge of the area to pick the ball up and as I bent down I felt my back go into spasm.
"That's never happened to me before even though I've had slight problems with my back through the years."
Young keeper Daniel Alcock is therefore likely to start his first game for the Reds after replacing Beresford in the QPR game.
The youngster was signed by former manager Gudjon Thordarsson from Stoke City and had a nightmare of a debut but Scott Flinders is the only other candidate and has made no first team appearances at all.
