Barnsley manager Keith Hill has been named one of the candidates to take over at high-flying Blackburn Rovers.
Hill is supposedly on a three-man shortlist which includes fellow ex-Rovers Tim Sherwood and Alan Shearer to succeed Steve Kean.
Kean endured a tumultuous two years in charge at Ewood Park, with fans constantly on his back, particularly following relegation from the Premier League last season.
Blackburn's Indian owners Venky's are keen to employ a manager as soon as possible and Hill, who made 96 appearances for Rovers in the 1990s could be approached in the coming days.
