Watford are the second Championship team to be looking for a new manager after the club parted company with Adrian Boothroyd today by mutual consent.
Boothroyd had a terrific start to life at Vicarage Road as he led Watford to the Premier League in his first season in charge by beating Leeds United in the Play-Off Final in 2006.
They lasted just one season in the top flight but looked to be heading straight back up last season when they led the table with just 14 games to go. An awful run of just one victory in those games meant Watford finished sixth and only made the Play-Offs by one goal!
They then lost to eventually promoted Hull in the end of season lottery and a poor start to this campaign has seen them above the relegation zone on goal difference only.
Saturday's 4-3 home defeat to Blackpool in which Watford led three times before losing to a last minute goal proved the final straw.
