Bristol City have tonight sacked manager Derek McInnes after falling to the bottom of the Championship with a 4-0 home defeat to Leicester. This home hammering, coupled with Barnsley’s 2-0 victory over Leeds saw The Reds leapfrog the South West side at the foot of the table.
McInnes took over at Bristol in October 2011 when the club were at the foot of the Championship, and despite leading them to safety by nine points, he has left the club where he found them, six points adrift of fourth bottom.
After the game today McInnes had told the local media he was looking to sign a few players this month but that will now be a task for another man.
