Early Reds Team News
Mounir El Haimour is out of the Carling Cup First Round tie at Crewe with a calf strain and is joined on the sidelines by Marciano Van Homoet who starts a three match suspension for his horror tackle on QPR's Daniel Parejo on Saturday. Rob Kozluk and Diego Leon are likely to come in.
Reds boss Simon Davey has also hinted at a change up front with Maceo Rigters set for his full debut, replacing Jon Macken whilst Stephen Foster will line up against the club where he started his career.

Head to Head.
It will prove very hard to predict a winner at Gresty Road tomorrow despite The Reds being in a higher division. Barnsley's record at Crewe stands at Won: 8 Drawn: 8 Lost:8. Crewe have also won the last two meetings by 2-0 scorelines. This though is the League Cup and The Reds last success at Gresty Road occurred in this competition, by a 3-0 scoreline in 2000 and this followed on from a 4-0 success in the first leg at Oakwell (when the early rounds of the League Cup were two legged affairs.) In other business, Barnsley will go looking for their 100th goal against The Alex tomorrow night. They have currently scored 99 against the men from Cheshire.

Crewe Alexandra. Last Season and This:
Last season was a period of transition for Crewe as Dario Gradi- their manager for a staggering 24 years announced he would be stepping down to become Technical Director. The hot seat went to First Team Coach Steve Holland who proved admirably in steering the Alex clear of the relegation zone. He was though helped by a 10 point deduction handing to Bournemouth for entering administration. Without this Crewe would have been relegated to League Two in 14 years. They were also helped by the goal-scoring form of Nicky Maynard who bagged 15 of Crewe's 47 goals last season.
He cannot help them this season though as he moved into the Championship by joining Bristol City for a club record £2.25m fee. Calvin Zola who scored just five goals last season for Tranmere has been brought into replace him and he has made a good start by scoring on his debut in Crewe's 2-1 home defeat to Brighton on Saturday.
