One promotion and one relegation place was decided last night as Cardiff City won promotion to the Premier League and Bristol City dropped into League One.
Cardiff went into last night’s home match with Charlton needing just a point to secure a place at English football’s top table for the first time in 51 years, and they duly got it courtesy of a 0-0 draw.
Bristol City meanwhile needed to beat Birmingham to stand any chance of avoiding the drop but were beaten 1-0 at Ashton Gate and will play in the third tier for the first time in six years.
