Chopra to make final home game?

Mump victim Michael Chopra's Barnsley career may not be over just yet.

The Reds top scorer is definitely out of tomorrows trip to Port Vale but does have a slight chance of making the final home game with Colchester United where he is widely tipped to be name Supporters Player Of The Year.

Caretaker boss Andy Ritchie told the Official Site today:

" Michael will be quarantined until next Thursday. We will have to see how he is then. Michael may not have played his last game for the club yet and we will see next week. He should be able to come back into full training next week although it may take time after such an illness. He is feeling better and may do some running over the weekend, so he could be involved at some stage against Colchester.

Ritchie also wouldn't rule out Chopra returning in a red shirt next season although the chances are very slim.

" Michael will go back to Newcastle at the end of the season, and we are not certain as to what his future is.

We think that Newcastle may exercise an option they have on him and give him another year's contract.

Michael would like to come back here if he was to go out on loan again next season but that may be out of his hands.

I think Newcastle may want him to play higher. He has come here and scored goals this season so they might want to send him out to a Championship club next season.

He has proved himself at this level so they might want him to play higher. Hopefully not but I have a feeling they might send him out to the Championship.
