Interesting Stats:
One thing this game should guarantee is goals- there have been 34 in the last nine meetings with 19 of those coming in the past three alone. Incredibly Barnsley have scored eight times in their last three meetings with the Robins but have not won any of them, losing 3-2 and 5-3 and then back in August drawing 3-3 at Ashton Gate despite leading 2-0 and 3-2.
These two teams might be next to each other in the alphabetical sense, but they are at the opposite ends of the form table. City who had a poor start to the season, which has all but cost them a play-off spot are ending the season in style and have won six of their last seven matches. Barnsley meanwhile are mirroring last season’s abject end when they failed to win any of the final 10 matches. They have currently won just one of their last 10 games. If they fail to win any of their final seven matches they will have an identical finish to 2009-2010 and still require another seven points to match last season’s tally.
