Plymouth fans were gutted to see him leave Home Park this summer and Barnsley fans have seen in August exactly why.
23-year-old Irish midfielder Conor Hourihane has netted in successive games against Coventry, Gillingham and Yeovil and it has earned him the August Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award.
Hourihane who has now made seven appearances for The Reds beat off competition from Preston’s Chris Humphrey, Coventry’s Reda Johnson and Bradford’s James Hanson to scoop the prize today.
Manager Danny Wilson said: “I am delighted with the impact Conor has had here. The award is thoroughly deserved. I am sure he will be looking for more!”
