Coventry City chairman Ray Ranson has bid goodbye and good riddance to striker Michael Mifsud after his loan move to Oakwell on transfer deadline day.

Mifsud was a hit for the Sky Blues in his first two seasons for the club scoring four in 17 starts in 2005-2006 before hitting it big last season when he bagged 17 goals in 40 starts, including one at Oakwell and two at Old Trafford!

This season has stalled for him however and with him being played on the wing he has managed just two goals and has been angling for a move.

This has led to City chairman Ranson to say now he's gone he's gone for good. He told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire:

"I'm glad it's all behind us for his sake and for our sake.

"He's gone until the end of the season so I think it's safe to say he'll never play for Coventry while I'm chairman."

"I've spent more time talking about Michael Mifsud since I've been chairman than any other player."

Meanwhile Reds captain Stephen Foster has returned to training and has an outside chance of making the squad for Saturday's game with Crystal Palace, whilst Iain Hume went to see his specialist last Friday and is now waiting for the all-clear to return to full training.
