Former Barnsley loanee Jamie Cureton has baked axed Norwich boss Glenn Roeder, saying the man who gave only three starts at Carrow Road this season, despite being the Canaries top scorer last season was not to blame for Norwich's current run of two wins in 11 games which has dropped them to fourth from bottom of the Championship and out of the relegation zone only on goal difference.
Cureton was re-called by Norwich after Roeder's exit and is likely to line up against The Reds this weekend.
He told the Daily Express:
" I am fairly shocked, I did not see it (Roeder's sacking) coming. I was at the cup game and it was not a great match obviously. There was a fairly big crowd and maybe the board feel it was the right time to do it."
Cureton has made 50 appearances for Norwich and scored 14 goals, this season though he has made just 15 appearances (12 from the bench) without scoring a goal. This led to his short-term move to Oakwell where he scored twice in eight appearances.
