In a shock move, Keith Curle has left Barnsley today.
According to the clubs official website, Keith had asked to be released from his contract and as a consequence his registration has been cancelled by mutual consent.
The official statement read: "Keith has ambitions to progress his career on the managerial front and indicated that in the event of the club successfully coming through the period of administration he would like to be considered for further employment with Barnsley FC."
Caretaker Manager Glyn Hodges had indicated in a statement yesterday that Curle was helping him with training since the departure of Steve Parkin and Tony Ford.
