Davis Deal Falls Through.

David Davis’ proposed move to Barnsley has fallen through after The Reds and his current club Wolves failed to agree personal terms on how much of his wages The Reds would pay.

The 23-year-old midfielder had agreed to move to South Yorkshire until the New Year after finding himself out of the Wolves team since February but the deal looks dead in the water after the newly promoted Molineux outfit wanted Barnsley to pay a higher percentage of Davis’ wages.

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett told the Birmingham Mail:

“It’s down to terms rather than football, it was going to be a loan deal but term’s haven’t been agreed,”

“Whether they will be in the future or not I don’t know. Dave is with us and training. There’s no other interest in him at the moment.”

Barnsley manager Danny Wilson has though been able to get another body through the door after taking defender Reece Brown on trial.

The 22-year-old younger brother of former Manchester United man Wes Brown started his career at Old Trafford but left for Watford in 2013 after failing to make a single appearance and loan spells at Bradford, Doncaster, Oldham, Coventry and Ipswich.

The former England Under 19 and 20 international managed to make just three appearances for the Hornets, two in the League Cup and spent the second half of the 2013-2014 campaign on loan at League One Carlisle where he played 12 games, six of which ended in defeat.

Brown will play some part in today’s friendly against FA Cup finalists Hull at Oakwell (3pm) as will former Rotherham United striker Will Hoskins. Wilson will make a decision on his future on Monday.
