John Stones is set to hit Wigan Athletic with an 11th hour transfer deadline day snub by deciding to join Champions League chasing Everton.
Wigan, who currently reside in the Premier League’s relegation zone had a £3m bid for Stones accepted this morning and looked set to seal the deal but the Latics bid has seemed to jolt Everton into life and their boss David Moyes matched that bid and the England Under 19 international is believed to be on his way to Goodison Park for a medical.
Everton is likely to appeal more to the 18-year-old fullback due to their position in fifth place in the table, just one point off a top four spot.
Meanwhile two other players heading out of the Oakwell door are midfielder Matty Done and defender Rob Edwards.
Done, 24, who signed from Rochdale in 2011 is set to seal a move to Scottish Premier League side Hibernian, whilst Edwards, 30, who joined from Blackpool in the same year but has not featured for the side this season is moving to League One side Shrewsbury.
