A deal to bring Preston duo Chris Sedgwick and Stephen Elliott has fallen through after the pair failed to agree terms with The Reds.
A move for 29 year old winger Sedgwick and 26 year old striker Elliott was in the pipeline to help Mark Robins strengthen his squad following the departures of Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Kayode Odejayi but according to Preston boss Darren Ferguson the deals are now dead.
He is quoted as saying:
"I have to wheel and deal a little bit, we have five strikers at the club so Stephen needs to get out and play football.
"Chris Sedgwick is out of contract in the summer so that's the situation with those two.
"Barnsley enquired and we thought we had an agreement, but it has not worked out."
