Barnsley have received a double boost ahead of a crucial week with Ben Pearson and George Smith extending their stays at Oakwell.
20-year-old midfielder Ben Pearson arrived on loan from Manchester United in January and has been hugely impressive in his five appearances which included a wonderful solo goal following a 70 yard run in the 2-1 victory over Port Vale.
And now the England U20 international has extended his youth loan until the 8th March, subject to Football League confirmation.
That news has been followed by 18-year-old full back George Smith signing a new contract extending his stay at Oakwell until June 2016.
Smith signed his first professional contract with Barnsley in June, making his debut in the 1-0 defeat at Preston on Boxing Day.
He has since made a further five appearances.
