Former Leeds Chairman Peter Ridsdale is still hoping to take control of the Reds according to Peter Doyle.
The Football League and the Football Association have failed to ratify the Lewis takeover which technically leaves Doyle still in control.
Doyle admits Ridsdale still interested in Barnsley
Patrick Cryne is believed to be the man behind a proposed £5m bid along with Ridsdale.
Doyle said: "Yes, there is still interest from Peter Ridsdale.
"Both Ridsdale and Patrick Cryne are interested.
"The Football League and the FA did not ratify the Lewis takeover and now we're between a rock and a hard place, but they did ratify my takeover on 12 December."
