Former Barnsley loanee Nathan Doyle has re-signed for the Reds on a free transfer from Premier League side Hull City.
Doyle had a successful spell with the Reds after signing on a three-month loan deal in September 2009 and enjoyed 11 games in the heart of the midfield, only two games of which ended in defeat for the Reds.
Hull's unwanted players including Doyle, Peter Halmosi, Caleb Folan and Bryan Hughes have all been training with the Tigers' youth team after being told they can find new clubs to trim the KC Stadium outfit's wage bill.
Doyle made 14 appearances for Hull in a three-year spell since joining from Derby County and scored once, in the Play-Off Semi Final against Watford in the season City were promoted to the top flight.
He has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Oakwell.
