Doyle wants McCarthy for manager

The former Republic of Ireland and Millwall boss is wanted as manager by the new owners of the Tykes. A meeting between Doyle and McCarthy should be held this week to see if the latter can be tempted back into league management.

Mick returned to Oakwell for the visit of Blackpool in the FA Cup and signed copies of his new book. However, the former Reds favourite denied any interest in the manager's job and commented on the good job Glyn Hodges was doing in difficult circumstances.
