Barnsley were well represented in the Npower Football League last night, as EIGHT former players were on the scoresheet.
In the Championship Adam Hammill (Barnsley 2009-2011) grabbed a consolation for Huddersfield in their 3-1 defeat at Peterborough, whilst Chris Wood (2010) grabbed a brace for Millwall in their 3-3 draw with Birmingham.
In League One, Nicky Wroe (2003-2007) scored a 36 minute hat-trick for Preston in their 3-2 triumph at Scunthorpe, Iain Hume (2008-2011) grabbed a last minute winner for Doncaster at Tranmere, whilst Jamal Campbell-Ryce (2007-2010) scored a penalty for Notts County in their 3-3 draw with Bournemouth.
And in League Two, Deon Burton (1998) netted for Gillingham in a 2-1 defeat at Torquay whilst Daniel Nardiello (2004-2007) scored both goals in Rotherham’s 2-1 win over Morecambe.
There should have been a ninth scorer, but Neil Austin (2001-2007) hit the crossbar with a penalty in Hartlepool’s 2-1 defeat at Bury, which proved to be their manager, Neale Cooper’s last game in charge.
