FA Cup Second Round Draw:

Last updated : 11 November 2005 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Home ties are like buses.

You wait ages for one and then THREE come along in a row.

Having seen a scarce amount of cup ties at Oakwell in recent times we get three in one season.

Doncaster in the LDV, Darlington in the First Round of the FA Cup and now Yorkshire rivals Bradford City will make the short trip to Oakwell for the Second Round on the first weekend in December.

Bradford defeated fellow League One rivals Tranmere Rovers in the First Round at Valley Parade today (Sunday) Ironically The Reds travel to Bradford this Saturday in the league with both teams looking for vital promotion points.

Andy Ritchie was pleased with the draw as he told the Official Site:

" Well it was the home draw we wanted although it will be against stiff opposition. It is a local derby and one to look forward to for everyone.

It should be a game that has everything with local pride to play for and the chance to get into the Third Round at the end of it. That should mean a good crowd and a great edge to the game.

We are playing Bradford on Saturday so we will definitely know everything about each other".

The last time Barnsley faced Bradford in the FA Cup was back on the 8th January 1983 when the Reds carved out a 1-0 victory.

On recent form though the Bantams have the upper hand with Barnsley failing to beat them since October 1999.
