Barnsley's first FA Cup second round tie since 2014 will be on the road after they were drawn with either League Two Crawley Town or fellow League One side Southend United.
Those two will clash again at the Broadfield Stadium on the 20th November following a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall at the weekend.
Barnsley are looking to advance to the third round as a third tier side for the first time since 2014-2015.
The Reds have met Southend three times before in the FA Cup with two of those encounters going to a replay; Barnsley winning 2-1 at Oakwell following a 1-1 draw at Southend Stadium in the third round of 1937-1938 before losing 2-0 in an Oakwell third round replay in 2006-2007 following a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall. The Reds did defeat the Shrimpers in the following year's fourth round however, winning 1-0 at Roots Hall on their way to the semi-finals.
Barnsley have never faced Crawley in the FA Cup and indeed have only ever met them twice ever, in the 2014-2015 League One campaign where they lost 1-0 at home and 5-1 away.
