Barnsley remain down to the bare bones as the FA cup gets underway for Premier League and Championship clubs. Jacob Butterfield is ruled out for the rest of the season with the knee injury he suffered against Leeds but Danny Drinkwater could return to the side. The Manchester United man agreed to extend his loan until the end of the season this week and should be fit after missing the last four matches with a torn thigh muscle. Jim O’Brien is also still struggling with a stomach problem and newest recruit Chris Dagnall is cup-tied after appearing for Scunthorpe in their First Round defeat to AFC Wimbledon.

Interesting Stats
This match pitches the League One Play-Off Finalists of 2006 together.
That penalty shootout win for Barnsley at the Millennium Stadium is the Reds only victory against the Swans in the last 10 meetings.
Swansea have not lost at Oakwell since November 1983 when The Reds triumphed 3-2 in the old Second Division.
Both teams have had contrasting fortunes since meeting in Cardiff six years ago. Barnsley won 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw and secured promotion to the Championship. But since then The Reds have not finished above 17th in English football’s second tier, whilst Swansea were promoted as League One Champions two years after their Play-Off heartbreak and spent just three seasons in the Championship before winning promotion to the Premier League last May after defeating Reading in the Play-Off Final.
Barnsley are showing good form at home in recent weeks, having won six of their last eight matches at Oakwell, but Swansea finally secured their first away win of the season last weekend, winning 2-0 at Aston Villa.
The Reds are also one of the highest home scorers of the Championship. Their 22 goals scored in front of their own supporters is bettered only by Southampton, Cardiff and Peterborough.
Swansea meanwhile have netted just eight away from home in the Premier League- only Fulham have netted less on the road.
FA Cup Records
Barnsley have not scored an FA Cup goal since that famous header from Kayode Odejayi in 2008 knocked out the then holders Chelsea and put Barnsley into the Semi-Finals.
They have exited at the first hurdle (Third Round) in each of the three seasons since- twice to West Ham and once to Scunthorpe.
Swansea have gone out in the Third Round twice in the last four years and have gone out to lower league opposition three times in the last six years.
The two sides have met just once before in the FA Cup- in January 1927 when Swansea won 3-1 at Oakwell.
