Barnsley manager David Flitcroft has gained recognition for a fantastic February by being nominated for the Manager of the Month Award.
Flicker led The Reds to four wins from their five matches last month, guiding the club from four points adrift of safety on the 2nd February to two points clear of danger by the 23rd. They also booked a place in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals by eliminating MK Dons in the Fifth Round.
Nominated alongside the 39 year old are Bolton’s Dougie Freedman whose’s Trotters outfit won three drew two and lost just once in February and Watford’s Gianfranco Zola who powered the Hornets into the automatic promotion frame with four wins and one draw.
Interestingly the list includes two of the youngest three managers in the Championship. Only Blackburn’s Michael Appleton at 37 years of age is young than Flitcroft (39) and Freedman (38).
