Reds boss Simon Davey has made his SECOND signing of the day and THIRD of the week with the capture of 27 year old French left side player Mounir El Haimour from Swiss side NEC Xamax for an undisclosed fee.
El Haimour has spent most of his career in Switzerland, turning out for Champagne Sports, Schaffhausen, and Yverdon as well as spending the last three years with Xamax. El Haimour started his career in France with Chatellerault and had a short spell in Russia with Spartak Alania.
He made 31 appearances for Xamax last season as they finished 8th in the Swiss top flight.
Davey told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"Mounir is an exciting player and is naturally left sided so he will add something to our squad which we were missing last season.
"It is another big deal for this Club and we are delighted to have brought him here. Mounir is a player who will be comfortable as a left winger or wing back. He will add a dynamic option on the left hand side to complement what we had last season on the opposite flank".
