Barnsley's "invisible man" Andy Johnson has finally left the club for good after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
The 34 year old was signed on a free transfer by Simon Davey in the summer of 2007 and played in the first five games of 2007-2008 against Coventry, Darlington, Colchester, Plymouth and his former side West Brom before suddenly disappearing from the first team picture. He failed to make another appearance for the club and has now left with his contract due to run out this summer.
Meanwhile, Davey has been given his date for a personal hearing with the Football Association. He will appear before a disciplinary panel after being sent off in the controversial 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield United in November, which was made infamous for the fractured skull Iain Hume suffered. Davey will appear before the FA on 29th January.
