Reds manager Paul Hart said he was pleased with new signing Chris Shuker's performance on his debut in the 0-0 draw with Port Vale.
Hart told the official Barnsley website: "I was delighted with Chris Shuker. I thought he put in a terrific performance.
"I'm a little disappointed with the result, but not my team's performance."
