Barnsley defenders Bobby Hassell and Tom Williams have been ruled out of tomorrow’s first pre-season friendly against Bideford Town.
The Reds play Bideford as part of their three day tour of Devon which started yesterday.
Williams is still recovering from an ankle injury that kept him out of the latter part of the 2004/2005 season whilst Hassell strained knee ligaments in training.
Reds boss Andy Ritchie wasn't too down beat though as he spoke to the Official Barnsley F.C website:
"Bobby did his knee ligaments in training and was not fit to stay on a bus for six hours. We will have to have a look at him next week".
"Tom's scan went ok and showed no damage to any ligaments or tendons in his ankle. He has had an injection to see if that helps it settle down and he should be ok to train on Monday morning.
"He has not come with us to Devon".
Meanwhile club skipper Tony Vaughan is set to make his first appearance in a Red shirt since February in tomorrow’s friendly.
