Barnsley have secured the Manager of the Month award for the second time in three months after caretaker head coach Paul Heckingbottom was rewarded for steering Barnsley to four wins, one draw and one defeat in March.
For the fourth successive month the man in the Oakwell hotseat was nominated for the monthly award (Lee Johnson in December and January, and Heckingbottom in February and March) and after Johnson scooped the gong in the first month of 2016, so Heckingbottom has gained it today.
It means Barnsley have won two manager of the month awards in the same season for the first time since Norman Hunter scooped it three times in the 1980-1981 season on the way to guiding to them second place and promotion from the third tier.
