It was a case of one in out at Oakwell today as following the expected departure of Jacob Brown to Stoke City (the third Barnsley play to move to the Potteries in the space of just over a year) the Reds announced the signing of Polish centre half Michal Helik.
The 25 year old arrives from Cracovia who finished seventh in the Polish top flight in 2019-2020 but more importantly won the Polish Cup for the first time in their history defeating Lechia Gdansk 3-2 in the final.
Like fellow new recruit Dominik Frieser, Helik also has Europa League experience – losing in the First Qualifying Round of both 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 with Cracovia.
