Kenny Moyes last night hinted he and business partner Sean Lewis would be
willing to walk away if Peter Ridsdale produces the cash to buy Barnsley FC.
He told the Chronicle that they would consider any offers after two turbulent months in charge of the club.
Despite being unveiled as the new owners in July the pair have so far failed to come up with the money to buy out Peter Doyle and struggled to get approval from the league or to get the club out of administration.
But he said they hadn't yet had a formal approach from former Leeds chairman Mr Ridsdale whose bid is said to be financed by millionaire Reds fan Patrick Cryne.
Mr Moyes said, "We have always said that if someone comes along who can
come up with the funds quicker than we can we would be more than happy to talk to them.
"My own feeling is that we have a good thing going and we have a lot of potential.
"If a deal comes off I wouldn't want to relinquish my involvement, but I'm not sure if Sean (Lewis) would want to be involved or not.
"At the end of the day, we have saved the club from going out of business altogether and we have put a decent team together to take the club forward. Things are in a much better condition now than a few months ago.
Mr Lewis was yesterday still in America looking for investment and was unavailable for comment.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that any take-over would be likely to have to include keeping Gudjon Thordarson as manager after he was awarded a three-year contract.
