Reds boss Keith Hill has told BBC Radio Sheffield that he would like to recruit two loan players before next Thursday's loan deadline.
The loan window slams shut on the 24th November and clubs will not be able to sign any more players until the January transfer window opens on New Years' Day.
It is unknown which particular players Hill is chasing but a possible move could be for Manchester City midfielder Gai Assulin, who Hill courted in September but was unable to secure a deal.
The Reds still remain men down from the horrendous injury crisis that hit earlier on in the season. Striker Danny Haynes has been missing since August and stalwart Bobby Hassell is also sidelined.
Hill told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"There's a few irons in the fire. I do feel we need at least two new recruits to get us through this hectic schedule.
"We probably need at least two new signings in the loan market and then we'll see where we are in January."
