Barnsley boss Glyn Hodges is looking to bring in a new number 2 to try and bolster his efforts to keep the Reds in the Second Division.
As it stands, Hodges, Colin Walker and Mark Smith are looking after the club's entire pool of players - 52 in total. In a recent interview, the Reds boss admitted "There are 37 pros and the Academy so things are difficult. The priority is to get the first team right and ideally you could do with two coaches just for the first 16".
Having been given the manager's job until the end of the season, Hodges now feels able to bring in his own man and he clearly has someone in mind: "He was working with the Football Association and has been involved with England right through the youth set up".
Dave Sexton, Ted Buxton and Ken Brown are three of the names to be linked with the club in recent weeks.
