Howard Moved For Promotion Not Pounds

Former Barnsley captain Brian Howard says he has proved the doubters wrong as he stands on the brink of promotion to the Premier League for the first time in his career.

When Howard left Oakwell for the short trip down the M1 in October many felt it was money motivated, but the 26 year old who scored the Blades goal in the Play-Off Semi-Final first leg says he has proved that wasn't the case.

He told BBC Radio Sheffield:

I think people have realised that I didn't sign here for the money,"

"I want to be a Premier League player, and I felt I had the best chance of doing that coming here."
