Argentine midfielder Hugo Colace has seen his contract cancelled by Barnsley today, as manager Mark Robins wastes no time in planning for the 2011-2012 season.
Colace, 27, only signed a two year deal last summer, but in controversial circumstances after first rejecting the offer and seeing a move to Crystal Palace collapse.
He eventually agreed to re-sign at Oakwell, but after enjoying a prolific 2009-2010 season when he was named Player of the Year and scored eight goals, he has had a disappointing 2010-2011 campaign, scoring just once in 28 appearances and was made available for loan in January.
Now the former Argentina U20 captain has left the club.
