Hume Set For Legal Action

Last updated : 01 May 2009 By Rob Miles (barnsley Boy)

Hume has been out of action since an elbow from Morgan on the 8th November 2008 fractured his skull. There was talk of legal action in the immediate aftermath of the furore but that had appeared to die down as United went for promotion and Barnsley tried to fight off relegation.

But with Hume still no nearer a first team return and The Reds on the brink of going down it appears there may be a court meeting in the near future.

Today's (Friday) Daily Express reports:

"Fractured skull victim Iain Hume has ended his silence on the horrific head injury which almost ended his career at Barnsley- and wants justice.

Hume was left fighting for his life after a challenge by Sheffield United's Chris Morgan, who the FA let off, and is taking action.

He said: I can't really say too much about the legal side of things but I think a lot of people were baffled by the FA decision."

Whilst the
Barnsley Chronicle reports:

"
Barnsley owner Patrick Cryne has indicated that the Reds and Iain Hume will take legal action against Sheffield United irrespective of what happens at Plymouth"
