Injured striker Iain Hume's agent has today revealed that the Canadian is looking on the positive side despite lying in a hospital bed with a fractured skull.

As you probably have read, Hume was injured after a sickening blow to the head from Chris Morgan's elbow, which left the 25-year-old with a fractured skull and internal bleeding.

Hume's agent Mickey Walsh told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:

"I have been to see Iain and he is talking lucidly and understood everything I said to him. He is a tough lad and is speaking about getting out of there and getting fit.

"I have been speaking with the Club and our only thought at this time is Iain's best interests. We want to do what's right for Iain but the main thing for everybody right now is that he gets better".

Meanwhile, former referee Dermot Gallagher has said he thinks that Morgan should have been sent off but defended referee Andy D'Urso by saying he couldn't have seen the incident properly.

When asked on Sky Sports News if he thought it was a red card, Gallagher said:

"I think it was. But if you look where Andy (D'Urso is positioned, he's at the other side of the pitch and he's not seen Chris Morgan do that.

"It's a red card every day of the week, but he can't have seen it and the referee has played safe. Andy D'Urso is the best referee in the Football League. He's a top referee and that would not have affected him. He's a very experienced, knowledgeable and talented referee.

"I'm not sure if Morgan will be punished further. The referee has taken the decision it's a yellow card on the day, but in fairness to Andy, he did not see it."
