Irivine Races Into Hillsborough

Former Preston North End manager Alan Irvine has been appointed the new boss at Sheffield Wednesday, replacing Brian Laws who was sacked on the 13^th December. Irvine lost his job at Deepdale on the 29^th December and his first match in charge will be the South Yorkshire derby at Oakwell, after Wednesday's game with Peterborough tomorrow was called off because of the freezing conditions.

Ominously for Reds fans, Irvine already has a victory at Oakwell to his name this season- after his Preston side won 3-0 there back in August, but he is yet to pits his wits against Mark Robins after the return fixture on Boxing Day was postponed.
